“Griz” comes from “Gris”, which means “Gray” when translated from Español.
The origin of this term is fuzzy in my memory.
I remember I was in class with some friends, circa 2017, and the teacher said something that sounded like “Grisnos” (pronounced in Español). My friend Inco and I joked about this and invented the term.
